Description:

You have gained foundational skills in your high school workplace-level courses. Now you can build the academic skills for Humber certificate or diploma programs.

This 2-semester exploratory program helps you develop your skills and gain admission requirements and transfer credits into a future college program. You will be able to explore career and program options in a variety of fields including Health and Wellness, Business, Media and Creative Arts, Applied Sciences and Technology, Community and Social Services and Liberal Studies. Access to personalized academic advising provides support and guidance and will help you decide on your academic and career goals. Enroll in Humber’s new General Arts and Science Degree Transfer Certificate and strengthen your grades, discover your passion, and prepare for your future.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:

    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
    • Grade 12 English (ENG4E, OLC4O, or equivalent)
    • Applicants with ENG4C or ENG4U, or equivalent are encouraged to apply for the General Arts and Science - Degree Transfer certificate program.

Post-admission testing in writing and basic mathematics is required. Applicants may be counselled into an alternative choice based on test results. While the General Arts and Science programs have been designed to prepare students to enter a major course of study in their chosen area, a General Arts and Science certificate or diploma is neither a guarantee, nor a requirement, for entry into subsequent programs at Humber or elsewhere.
